What is Tasker?

Tasker is a trusted community platform that connects people who need to outsource tasks and find local services, with people looking to earn money and ready to work.

Book a slot with a Tasker who has the skills you need in just a few minutes. From simple to complicated tasks, Tasker can help you complete your home cleaning, handyman tasks, gardening, and much more.

What types of tasks can I get done with Tasker?

You can book tasks in a variety of categories including (but not limited to) cleaning, running errands, moving, and more. Whether you need monthly cleanings or assistance assembling furniture, Tasker can connect you with an independent contractor who can help.

Who can create an account on Airtasker?

Signing up is free for everyone - you just need to be over 18. If you’re doing tasks, you’ll also need to have legal working rights in Australia.

What supplies will my Tasker have?

If you need something specific for your task, be sure to include it in your task description. You'll also want to message your Tasker after booking to confirm they have the supplies and tools needed. Please note: Taskers are independent contractors, so what supplies and tools they have will vary from Tasker to Tasker.

How much does it cost to hire a Tasker?

The total cost for your task can depend on how long the task takes and how much the Tasker's hourly rate is. If you have a budget, it can help to let your Tasker know that before the Task starts. You're able to see a Tasker's hourly rate when booking your task. Please note—Taskers are independent contractors who set their own hourly rates. As such, rates vary by Tasker.

What's the One-Hour Minimum?

All tasks have a one-hour minimum, which means Taskers aren't able to invoice for less than 1 hour. While the Tasker platform sets a one-hour minimum on all tasks, Taskers are independent contractors who may have their own higher hourly minimum. Remember—we're a cashless platform, so you should pay your Tasker securely through the website or app.

Why Can't I Find a Tasker?

When you go to book a Task, you should see a list of Taskers based on factors like Tasker availability, category, and price. However, as independent contractors, Taskers have the flexibility to set their own hourly rates and schedules. This means that depending on demand, there may be times when Taskers aren't available. If no Taskers are available it could help to check other dates and times to see if one has availability on another day. Still no luck? Get in touch with us at XYZ and we’ll see if we can help match you to an available Tasker!

Why do you need my credit card?

Tasker is a cashless platform, so hiring a Tasker requires a valid credit card. We ask for this when you're posting a task to verify your identity and validate your card for payment. Don't worry—you won't be charged until after the task is completed.

Do Taskers see my phone number, email, or address?

Taskers never receive your phone number or email address – all communication goes through the Tasker platform. There's no need to exchange personal contact info because the in-app chat features allow Taskers to contact you directly from the app. To keep your information secure, we recommend you don't exchange personal contact details with your Tasker.

Can Tasker help with Professional Services?

Tasker is a platform that connects Customers with Taskers. If your task requires a licensed professional, please clarify licensing and credentials with your Tasker or seek assistance outside of Tasker. Tasker does not provide any warranties or guarantees regarding any Tasker's professional accreditation, registration, or license.

Do I have to be home when my task is completed?

You are responsible for overseeing and directing the work of your Tasker. Tasker doesn't monitor, direct, or oversee the work of Taskers, as they are independent contractors hired by Customers. If you won't be home, be sure to give your Tasker any instructions they may need to correctly complete your task.

What type of tasks can I work on at Tasker?

From simple to complicated tasks, Tasker can help you earn by completing tasks such as cleaning, running errands, moving, and more. It's free to make offers, but before you do so, ensure you are available at the date and time specified, check if the task requires a specific license to complete it such as an electrical license and ask questions to better understand the scope to ensure you have the qualifications to complete it. Feel free to browse through the posted tasks to see the various tasks you can work on.

How do I get paid?

All payments in Tasker go through our secure escrow payment system. And after you've made an offer, been assigned and completed the task, it's time to get paid! Here's how a payment gets to a Tasker:

  1. A Customer assigns you to their task.
  2. The payment is taken from their card and held in escrow in our system.
  3. You complete the task.
  4. You click the Request payment button.
  5. The Customer clicks release payment from their side.
  6. The payment starts its journey to you, arriving in your nominated account in 3-5 business days.

Important note: Customers can only release payment when you clicked the Request payment button. Please make sure you do this every time you finish a task! If the Customer hasn't released payment after 48 hours from the time you clicked the request payment button, Airtasker has a process that can help. Head to this article for more information.
